Subject: working out every other day / precision timing supplementation
Submitted by: Marco Angelo, Cleveland, OH
I've read both your books, at
least 4 times each and really started getting deep into the program. I have answered most
of my questions by rereading but this one eludes me... I hope it's worthy of a response.
In regards to chart on pg 265 of
NHE my question is if you workout every other day (intermediate) A: are you cutting short
your anabolic period and B: can I use it to precision time certain supplements (GH
releasers & anticatabolics: before workout ((AM)), 5 hrs later when GH is lowest, and
bed time) & (testosterone boosters, estrogen/cortisol blockers, natural anabolics: AM
wake up day after workout, right after workout, and again 5 or so hrs after workout. Let
me know if I did good.
Theres a difference between working-out every other day and
working-out 3 out of 7 days per week. The charts are schematic not precisely reflective.
There are individual variations, depending on fitness level, nutrition, and training
intensity. Also you are discounting overreaching. Recall from NHE and HIE that
overreaching means short term volume excess. The sine curves on those charts are different
when overreaching is employed. The reason I put sample workout programs in HIE is so you
dont have to re-invent the wheel but rather follow the printed schedules modifying
them as necessary but staying within the general principles of Hormonally Intelligent
Exercise. For these reasons, trying to precision time your supplement intake
will invariably involve guesswork and is not necessary or recommended.
Let me know if I did
good.
Yes. Reading both NHE and HIE four
times each is commendable and shows that you are powerfully determined to improve your
health and fitness. But you must remember your success will depend on your
day-in-and-day-out application of what you read in those books. So keep focused on the big
picture and commit yourself to your long-term goals. |
